What We Do and Why

Loving Hands Memory Boxes was founded by Me, Arlin. I am a disabled veteran who had over 20 years in the military then being injured in a Middle East Bombing.

I started a club called "Loving Hands Memory Boxes"(LHMB) which is dedicated to comforting parents that lost a child due to SIDS, Miscarriage, or Still Birth.  We make nice wood boxes instead of the cardboard boxes that hospitals give out now.

One of the days during my three month hospital stay, the nurse wheeled me around in my wheelchair, I observed a couple leaving the hospital in obvious grief. I asked the nurse about why and what was wrong?  The nurse told me that the couple had come into the hospital to have a baby and just had a stillborn child and also that the cardboard box that they had was to put things in to remember the child by.

Right then I wanted to learn how to make nice wooden boxes for these grieving parents that went into the hospital to have a child and left with a cardboard box. It really hit me hard. I have said “I am only broken in body; however, they will always have to deal with emotional grief.”

Though I can no longer serve my country in the military, I will always serve the people of MY Great Nation "The United States of America"  this way since I cannot serve in the military anymore, however I want to serve these couples and to be part of their healing process.
